Updated: Apr 30, 2021

It is important that the image of your company is absolutely fantastic. This means that in addition to having a great website, a strong social media presence is also very important. Whatever platforms you decide to use, it is imperative that it looks good.

If you thought you made the perfect photo for Instagram, you discover that most of it fell off when you posted it. If you knew the correct formats, your photo would have become a real masterpiece.

To make sure your business always looks its best, we've put together a list of all social media image sizes to make sure your images look spectacular on any platform:

Facebook images

Even the largest social media network has some very specific requirements, especially when it comes to image sizes. When someone wants to know more about your business, chances are they are trying to find you on Facebook, so it's best to set up your profile. In addition to the obvious (your profile photo and cover photo), there are a few other formats to consider.

Specific images to watch out for are groups and events, as they have their own specific dimensions. The photo itself is of course up to you, so make sure it is attractive.

Profile photo: minimum 180 x 180 px

Cover photo: 820 x 310 px

Link post: 1,200 x 628

Photo: 1,200 x 628 px

Cover photo of the group: 1,640 x 859 px

Event cover photo: 1,920 x 1,080 px.

The rising star of social media networks. The possibilities for promoting your business through Instagram are endless, so you need to make sure your images are the best.

The social network offers three formats for sharing photos and videos.

Depending on your account type, personal or business, the dimensions of the photos are slightly different. For a company, your profile picture or logo will appear next to your messages. You also have a photo for the banner of your page and the preview that accompanies a link when you publish an article. There are some photo restrictions: Profile photos cannot exceed 10MB and can only be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format.

Personal profile photo: 400 x 400 px

Personal background 1,584 x 396 px

Business background: 1,536 x 768 px

Standard company logo: 400 x 400 px

Pinterest images

Pinterest really wouldn't be anything without images, so it's not surprising that you'll find very specific dimensions to different photos on this social network. From small to large to thumbnails to profile pictures, check out the images below. Note that while the width of a pin is set, the height is not.

Twitter images

Even with the expansion of characters to 280, Twitter still relies heavily on visuals. Images still get a lot more attention than a sentence and a handful of hashtags could ever be. Punch your tweets with a photo, whether it's from a link you shared or a simple photo post. With Twitter, every character and pixel counts, so make sure you're using the correct formats. Here are the dimensions to optimize your tweets:

Profile picture: 400 x 400 px

YouTube is clearly a platform dedicated to video and not photos, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention to the ones that are available to you. Your channel icon, video thumbnails, and channel photo require specific dimensions, so make sure you use them properly.

Profile picture: 800 x 800 px

Cover photo: 2560 x 1440 px
